-A series of disappointments. First disappointment. We had booked a Deluxe double room for 6 nights breakfast included (425,55/night). We were installed in a Classic double room. We asked for a larger room that matched our booking contract. This was not possible or else an overcharge of €525,55 per night had to be accepted. We have therefore kept the Classic double room. The surprise on reading the pre-invoice was to see that we were billed on the basis of the price of a double Deluxe room. On my complaint to the General Manager, we were first offered to offer us one night. I refused and demanded to pay only for 6 nights at the Classic double room rate as it appeared on their website and on the Booking site (€315/night/breakfast included). After several painful bargaining attempts, they finally granted my request. Of which act. Second disappointment. Breakfast included. For health reasons, I don't eat sweets. So no pastries, no pastries, I just had wholemeal bread, fried eggs, cheese and an apple every morning. To my surprise, the cheese and the apple were charged extra (between €18 and €33 depending on the day). They had the elegance to cancel the abusive supplements. Of which act. Third disappointment. Room service. We spent our entire stay with the same mini soap and 2 mini tubes of shower gel that were stubbornly being recirculated by room service. Wet towels, put on the floor to be changed, were systematically folded up and put back into service. And yet we were very careful to save towels.

+We had a very pleasant and much too short stay for our taste! We will come back and we will spend more time there for sure. The welcome was perfect, we had the right to a guided tour of the place as well as the history of the castle, we who love history and particularly castles were delighted. The bedding was really comfortable. It's a family that manages this castle and it feels, we were like at home, even better, like kings 🙂 We had the opportunity to see deer playing ball. Given the level, Karim Benzema had better watch out! Thanks to them for this moment out of time!

+Pretty old castle with a beautiful history 10 minutes from Evreux very well equipped: large jacuzzi suite (huge even), large park, very nicely furnished and decorated on the ground floor (purple living room, yellow living room, green dining room with a beautiful fountain, elegant games room), swimming pool at 30 degrees, tennis, winter garden etc. In short, something to take care of over a weekend. Owner and his family very friendly. Breakfast okay. For dinner, possibility to have dinner delivered on site or to cook (there is a kitchen available on the ground floor!!). Very well heated and very comfortable. We feel that visitors feel good there.

The place is comfortable and calm, the bedding is very pleasant, the swimming pool was perfect and the park always pleasant. It was very hot outside (29 degrees on Saturday and 32 on Sunday) but the chateau is sufficiently insulated for the interior to be pleasant with just fans provided by the owner. The owners were very friendly and took the time to show me around and explain the history of the castle to me. The historic site is simply stunning. The setting is magnificent and tastefully decorated to respect the beautiful Normandy region. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. We had dinner at La Bocane, excellent service and delicious food. The buffet breakfast is complete and very qualitative with local products (apple juice from the orchards of the establishment for example). We were able to enjoy a very nice horse-drawn carriage ride down to Place Sainte Catherine. The staff is attentive and extremely kind. Thank you very much for your attention. Everything was perfect, from the warm welcome I received upon my arrival, to the magnificent location of the chateau in the middle of the Normandy countryside. The buildings were simply stunning, with traditional architecture which added to the charming vibe of the place. My accommodation was spacious, clean and comfortable, with all the amenities I needed for a pleasant stay. The massage I received was also amazing. I really enjoyed the time I spent relaxing and being pampered. Cleanliness was also excellent, with attentive staff ensuring everything was immaculate throughout my stay. In our box, we had a 4-course menu that was far too basic for a gastro restaurant. The waitress didn't know what a cocktail was and she arrived with a 3/4 empty bottle of wine. Then comes the dining room where we spent an unforgettable moment with the seven-course menu full of flavors and the guest of a talented chef. And finally a room, a suite in fact, with a comfort that we will be grateful to our guests for a long time. It was only the magnificent and huge bathtub that was a problem for the two people who were starting to age, which we unfortunately became: a little difficult to access. For years we had promised to stay at Le Clos. That is done and without disappointment!

March 18., 2023When we arrived, we were able to use the sauna but to our surprise the cleanliness was not there. Indeed, the reception room and the floor were very dirty (dust, cobwebs...). The bathroom, let's talk about it ... this one was dirty with black stains, the sink tap was not fixed, the shower was leaking from all sides, and no hot water ... the lights fixed to the ceiling are infected with dead insects. A DISASTER !!! Not to mention the traces of toothpaste on the mirror. And no, it's not over...the room was damp, hair was on the beds/pillows. After this disastrous finding, we went to the restaurant to have dinner and enjoy the "terroir" dinner. But what was our surprise, when taking the order, the server told us that dinner is not included in the Wonderbox. So I showed him the explanatory sheet of the box, and he told me that it had changed and that dinner was no longer included. We therefore had to pay the modest sum of €104 for two if we wanted to stay. I told him that I had not been notified of this change in service, but he didn't want to know! I asked him to call the chef, who is the owner of the place, he told me that he was busy that I can see him the next day. INADMISSIBLE! So we left the restaurant. The manager having seen us, I explained the situation to her and she told me that I had to see directly with the after-sales service of Wonderbox. I told him that it was not correct because at the time of the reservation, I had clearly specified all the services (dinner, sauna, breakfast[...]) and that I had been Confirmed several times that EVERYTHING was included. And yes, because it's not over, the manager started to raise the tone by making gestures with her hands very close to my face! I asked him to back up 3 times and told him that it was indecent to approach like that. She told me I site -"You can go out for dinner, I'll give you the gate code!". We packed our bags and left within half an hour! The professionalism was not there! No solution has been provided except to tell us that the establishment is losing money accepting the boxes (which still costs €200)! Not to mention that my name has been scratched 3 times! For a "3-star" tourist hotel! The performance is totally to be reviewed!!! I cannot hide my dissatisfaction with this performance. I am extremely disappointed with the unprofessionalism of the staff. I am extremely disappointed with the cleanliness of the establishment. I am extremely disappointed with the overall performance.

Already when you want to book by phone there is an answering machine and no one calls you back. So you have to go online. The room allocated to us for 120 € was in the attic with no charm, very dirty, and without heating (10 degrees!!!). So we refused this room. Another was offered to us, certainly huge but freezing and suffering from an obvious lack of maintenance. The breakfast for 13€ is very insufficient. In short, this place suffers from a lack of maintenance and is deteriorating. We won't be back.
