A big regret… A room for 500€/night. At this price we were hoping for a hotel not far from the magic. But no ! A jacuzzi has 40 degrees with the impossibility of lowering the temperature. We realize the request to lower the temperature but nothing has been done. So what's the point of renting a room with this type of equipment? A bed with a zipper right in the middle. Poor insulation. In short But apart from that the staff was very pleasant, good natured. The hotel may not deserve 5 stars. All this day thanks to this magnificent building.

For the sauna shower no explanation either, difficult to understand with the touch buttons of the shower and we tried to activate the Sauna option, but for fear of burning ourselves or mismanaging ourselves we did not use it. After a very positive initial experience that convinced us to return, the Boutique Hotel in Bordeaux frankly disappointed us when they obtained their fifth star. A room with a non-adjustable Chinese whirlpool, a TV that didn't work, dust behind the TV cabinet, a mirror that "lived", limestone on the stone of the sink cabinet, worn floating parquet, "cheap" furniture in typical low-end hotel melamine. The decor was not to my taste but that's personal. The bedding is of very good quality, the wide beds, finally a positive point! Another anecdote: when we visited this hotel for the first time, we were entitled to HERMES products, shower gel, shampoo, bubble bath, soap... and now, for the upgrade to 5 stars, we are entitled to a NUXE shower gel, shampoo and conditioner (a sample for 2, it's true that we shouldn't cut corners). I have nothing against Nuxe but that's what you find at Carrefour. The nice guy who received us tried to explain to me that the boutique hotel had changed partners, blablabla... no, the reality is that the boutique hotel has downgraded in terms of quality (afterwards, it has to find a justification for the stinginess of the management). We are far, very far from the feeling of a real 5 star, to believe that these are awarded in a hurry. The waiter who received us, again, tried to justify this extra star by telling us that, for example, they now park cars. For me it's a detail that does not burden the rest. 5 stars are supposed to be the guarantee of a magical experience, there it was just good, nothing more. The note is based on the price paid. At 100€ and 3 stars, I put 5/5. When you are 5 stars and you charge €300 for a room, you expect a quality adjustable whirlpool, a TV that works, 0 dust, 0 limestone, brand new parquet, a brand new mirror and the little extra that dream. This was not the case. A 10% discount was easily granted to us but it is derisory. Regarding the breakfast we had (28€..... there again one expects the ultimate luxury when one knows the price of a traditional breakfast in hotels of good invoice). So of course there was a choice. The full panoply of sweet and salty had been reviewed: salty galore with sausages, sausage, ham, sliced ​​chicken, cheese, smoked salmon..... and the sweet even more plethoric. But.... the quality was not there. The tasteless salmon, the greasy and not very tasty sausage, an average flan... and no product that caused the famous "wow" feeling that you expect when you pay for such an expensive service. We didn't taste everything, maybe we would have been seduced by the yoghurts or the homemade jams. We made the remark to the staff who were attentive, but hey they can't do anything about it if the management decides to play a tightrope between savings and the subsistence minimum to obtain 5 stars according to the charter. In my opinion, this rating system is as obsolete as the stars of the Michelin guide, which underrates certain excellent restaurants and overrates those who use caviar indiscriminately.

Saturday, February 4: we spent a pleasant night in this prestigious hotel. Intimate hammam sauna, exceptional wines, perfect breakfast... all with a smiling receptionist and a charming and attentive valet. Kudos to them.

I had reservations for brunch on a Sunday. The brunch is not at all up to a 5 star standard. The service is mediocre, the waiters removing the elements of the brunch in front of us I have never seen that in a hotel of this standard! there was almost nothing on the buffet when we arrived: if you take reservations at 13:30 p.m. it's to have things to offer on your buffet at that time. The things we ate were still good but I don't call it brunch but breakfast! the brunch is not provided and very minimalist for 39€. The servers are not attentive at all with customer attention close to 0. A brunch that I do not recommend!

I shared excellent moments there in the heart of Bordeaux Warm welcome We had a suite, a real apartment, which allowed total relaxation in the historic heart of Bordeaux. Correct price for the services carried out by a very professional caring team. Friendly bar. Never tried the restaurant. But calm, refreshing patio and quiet and varied spaces favoring “recovery” after tiring shopping moments.

Discovery of this all-you-can-eat brunch (the only brunches I like...). Very skeptical at first given the reviews. Both in quality and service. And it ended in a very, very pleasant surprise. A very dubious trade policy. A room is offered at 259 euros via Booking. I call for additional information and I am offered this same room at 485 euros! I express my astonishment and they offer me to match the price of Booking with an email from me, which I hasten to do. The processing time being a bit long, I would like to remind you. They ask me to send them a screenshot of the price on Booking. Unfortunately, the price has increased by 50 euros in the meantime. So they offer me a “better room” for 304 euros. It was not my initial request that had been approved and therefore refused the initial rate. I am very disturbed by such a lack of professionalism.
