+A fantastic stay at Chateau de Massillan. Everything was perfect. Whether it is the kindness and professionalism of all the staff, the accommodation, the setting, the restaurant (dinner and breakfast for our part), the spa or the location and architecture of this castle. There is nothing to complain about we loved every minute spent in this magical place.

Gourmet romantic getaway

-A little too long for our taste at check out (20 min), because someone was buying a gift voucher, which the staff customized on site, with the paper cutter. It would have deserved to have gift vouchers immediately available. Finally, we are going back because we still loved it...

+I liked the setting which is magnificent, a very beautiful castle in a superb area the spa is magnificent and very pleasant

-I found the reception a bit cold for a 4 star hotel. When I booked it, it was noted that it was a very large bed, but I had a 160cm. In the bedroom there were cobwebs above the curtains, the air conditioning was not cold, in the bathroom the ceiling was damaged by humidity and there was a musty smell, the tap had leaks traces of soap. I found it a pity not to have small body cream samples, after shampoo… for breakfast we were only 2 rooms suddenly all the cold buffet had not come out and you had to ask the lady each time to bring us what we wanted, obviously she brought it to us with pleasure but I find it embarrassing to ask each time.

-The bathroom is not at all practical: a long step to go to the shower or the WC, quite dangerous when it is wet, not very functional installations (toilet doors which do not close, no towel rack), the bathroom bathroom completely open to the bedroom. Room nicely decorated but also not very functional: no storage, very complicated switches to use, no bedside tables. Continuous music broadcast (only tango, always the same band) around the swimming pool and in the patio-restaurant. It becomes unbearable in the long run and despite my requests, no one knew (or wanted) to stop it.

-unfortunately we had a heavy rain, and the path leading to the annex building was completely flooded, impassable. With these extreme weather conditions it would be necessary to provide a more suitable floor covering.

+I am Director Former Director of Hotel ****. We had a lovely romantic getaway at this lovely hotel. The setting is very pleasant and the spa fantastic. Nice spacious and quiet room. Very decent breakfast. The staff is generally very friendly The restaurant is disappointing. 1h30 waiting to start seeing the appetizer arrive. Then a lot of waiting between each course. the room team is unprofessional. the so-called sommelier / bartender is not up to par. he asked us the same question several times. We had the impression of a too young team with little training and no coaching and no organization. The menu is a chef inspired menu with minimalist portions. In my opinion, not very suitable for this type of establishment and the team in the dining room. We would have preferred a simpler, authentic and more generous cuisine with regional products. The chef is surely having fun at the expense of the customer. I think you have to question yourself. We will return with pleasure to the hotel and the Spa.

-to be used to hotels, I find that this one is so on the side. Indeed, when we arrive people welcomes us we spot a space with cars very far from the entrance of the hotel. This forces us to obits leave our suitcases in the car to check that we are in the right place. We have the unpleasant surprise of a very difficult staircase to climb to reach our room. Of course no one to take us up the suitcases on this borderline dangerous staircase. The room is okay but not exceptional. However what a bad surprise looking at the aging bathroom. In addition, we had the unpleasant surprise of enjoying cold showers. The explanation of the receptionist is that we had to let the water run for 5 minutes and that we must have taken our showers at the same time as the others. A joke !!! The bedding is a disaster. Two mattresses glued together to sell a large bed whose junction you can feel all night Access to the spa is not free, you have to reserve a time slot well before arrival to have a place! No priority for hotel guests!!! gym at an additional cost… An organic spa in which you cannot stay for more than an hour without hurting your eyes and nose because of the over-dosed chlorine To sum up, we paid for a junior suite at almost €400 a night for services really not up to par

-No prior information concerning the need to climb several inconvenient floors to access room 17 (establishment without elevator). No help was offered at this stage. The lack of hygiene of the bedding in the room initially reserved (mattress full of very suspicious stains, soiled mattress pad...), paint blistered by the humidity of the shower, dilapidated armchair... Following our observations and complaints, a new room was offered to us, more consistent, on the floor below.

A haven of peace in the middle of the perched villages of the Drôme

+A little paradise cut off from the world, very pretty castle, especially the facade, which promises a dream arrival! The exteriors are magnificent and everything is thought out for the well-being of the client: there are even balls available! The spa is great, the restaurant excellent and the rooms (we stayed at the Trianon) spacious and very well designed. Very pleasant

+The rooms are very comfortable and tastefully decorated.

-The SPA, major maintenance concerns.... The Restaurant, with a surprise menu from the Chef, an interminable wait between each course, there is an obvious lack of staff. After 3 hours at the table, we left the restaurant, without tasting the dessert, nothing to add! No manager or manager present during our stay, but the staff was there, and up to the task, all magnificent, thank you to them!

An exceptional place!

+The setting is beautiful and relaxing, surrounded by nature, quiet. We had a wonderful romantic time. The staff is attentive, the bedding super comfortable. And the exceptional spa! We will come back at least one weekend a year, that's for sure. And this time taking care to book the restaurant, something we had not done, and as a result, it was full. The breakfast was delicious, overlooking the park, very pleasant.

Nice but attention to detail

+Beautiful chateau, spacious room. The spa is our favorite of the establishment, book a time slot well in advance! The breakfast is plentiful with different choices, but we could hope for better for 22€.

-A lack of attention to detail for an establishment of this standing: cleaning of the room not impeccable, the air conditioning too strong on our arrival, dirty cups, no mini care products (just shampoo and soap hung in the bathtub, not conditioner or lotion), no hydroalcoholic gel in the breakfast buffet room (it costs nothing to keep the good gestures when all the customers touch the tongs, spoons and coffee machines), no brochures/tourist information at reception. And unfortunately a restaurant that does not have the capacity to accommodate all hotel guests, it's a shame to hear people say "hotel full so no room for you in the restaurant" (we are only 2) .

3 rejuvenating days as a couple

Night at the top

+The place is magnificent, very beautiful park, the spa very pleasant. A beautiful suite with a large terrace, quality bedding, top bathroom All impeccably clean. Very good breakfast with lots of choice.

-The prices of the mini bar are a little too high, impossible to empty the bathtub because the stopper system is broken and entry to the SPA has to be paid for in full (a bit limited for a suite at 400€ per night).

An exceptional place for a very pleasant stay.

+The Château is very beautiful and well renovated, in a large and beautiful park. The rooms are modern. The breakfast is excellent, with very good products.

-Too bad the restaurant is closed two evenings a week and bad luck, just the two evenings we were staying at the castle. Access to the spa area costs €20 per hour and it was not very clear at the start. Slight odors in the bathroom of the room.

-Probably due to the financial consequences of Covid 19, the lingerie provided was insufficient, while the bathroom equipment in this "prestige" room is no longer up to current standards and even the bath-shower is dangerous, I don't would not like to be the insurer of the establishment. The breakfast is presented in a way that evokes lower category establishments and is currently awkward in view of the health crisis, fortunately the tables outside and the courtyard setting make up for the impression produced and make you forget the rest .

-When we want to shower at 21 p.m. after a day swimming under 35°, surprise no hot water in the room. Went down to reception to report the problem, the young man told me that he would call his superior and call me back to keep me informed. 1 hour later, 22 p.m., having no information, I go back down to reception, the young man having forgotten me, tells me that the technician will come the NEXT MORNING ... only being there for one night and still wanting wash ourselves (which seems to me a minimum) I had to insist that a solution be found. Solution? We had to go wash up in the spa showers. I am told that the problem will be passed on to superiors. The next morning when leaving the hotel I tell this to the receptionist who was probably not aware. Not being willing to make a move, my spouse had to insist on getting even the free breakfast. It seems to me that when one chooses a hotel of standing it is so that this kind of problem is managed properly and with consideration. Technical problems can obviously happen but the lack of solutions and consideration are not acceptable in view of the price of the room. A minimum of service is expected

The very comfortable rooms, the exceptional breakfast and the restaurant worthy of a star. The spa is surely the best we have been to! Everything is done for serenity and zenitude....
