Very nice hotel but personal terrace, breakfast and swimming pool not up to par

+The beauty of the building. The decoration of rooms and bedrooms. The politeness of the staff.

-Standing in line at breakfast because there were no tables but the staff had not opened the other half of the terrace. Laziness and a first in a hotel as far as I'm concerned! The equivalent in the afternoon: the terrace in full sun and the staff does not want to open the parasols if you want a drink. Spa and swimming pool: Nonchalant staff, difficulty in booking, no more towels but no one takes care of them! There is therefore a recovery to be done at the level of the terrace, the breakfast and the swimming pool. No real shutters on the bedroom windows so you're woken up by the day.

Ideally located close to the old port, the setting is magnificent and the view is exceptional from the rooms with terrace which overlook the old port and Notre Dame de la Garde. They are large, comfortable and very well equipped. The staff is attentive and attentive to your needs from the valet to the waiters in the restaurant. I didn't put 5 stars because at this level of range and price, the small failures are unpleasant and somewhat spoil the pleasure of the stay: the absence of teaspoons with the cups of the espresso machine in the room or again that of the ashtray on the terrace table (which we had to ask twice). We are however very satisfied and will definitely return to this wonderful hotel.

Excellent overnight stay and experience at the Intercontinental. We had communicated in advance that we would be accompanied by an infant, so the staff put us in excellent conditions. -A downside was met at the level of the restaurant, slightly disappointed for this price that there were so many errors (cooking of meats not respected, forgetting to order a cocktail, error in an entry). The breakfast was adequate but impractical I think due to the health rules imposed. Slightly annoying not having been able to go to the spa at the pool and care for the hands and feet because the reservations were full. Despite that, we have good memories of this stay.

-Over 3 nights it was a pity not to have had the room cleaned when we returned at the end of the day, we called the service who sent us a maid but did it very quickly without changing sheets, nor tissues, nor vacuum cleaner it's a shame for a 5 star to have this kind of problem. As the ashtray at our door (which we did not use) not emptied in 3 days.

+The location is exceptional. Full center of the port, breathtaking view. The rooms (suites) are huge and luxurious.

-The staff is not up to par. At the reception the staff is very caring but the valets are borderline rude, we wait all the time. 45 minutes on the day of departure and it's our fault since we leave between 12 and 13 p.m. and the staff takes their break! We pay 49 euros more since there is no more space and we have not reserved the parking lot! The pool is nice but the cushions are wet from people before and no staff to store or take care of the maintenance. The restaurant is very good but there is a wait at the entrance. Once again, no one to greet you. In fact everything is magnificent but no one makes this hotel run up to its stars. There is the same service as in a 3 star.

Brasserie restaurant with magnificent view, very good quality of food, however, very low level of customers, both in terms of dress and behavior, the hotel should impose a dress code and reserve the right to refuse customers who have nothing to do in a 5 star hotel.

Very good family stay in this hotel with its refined and well-appointed decoration. We occupied two rooms side by side. A beautiful historic building whose location offers a breathtaking view which is very much done. We were with our daughter and a nice attention was waiting for her in our room. We will come back!

This hotel near la cannebiere and the port of Marseille is absolutely remarkable. It is a restored former hospital with an impressive stature and an unparalleled view. The service is impeccable in the rooms with top-of-the-range services, only missing 1 or 2 more coat hooks in the bathroom. Christmas Eve was beyond our expectations and the price, even if it may seem high for some, is really good because it is much higher in similar establishments.
