+Despite an attentive staff (except for one person in bad faith) and a pleasant location as well as a beautiful private beach, the Hotel des Mouettes is quite disappointing. In high season, for a room at 300€ per night, we had a view of the petrol station for the first night. When we expressed our dissatisfaction, they offered to change our room the second night, the room was certainly much better than the first (more spacious, comfortable bedding) however we had a water leak in the hallway and the shower was not working well. Aside from the room, other points are disappointing: all the bikes lent by the hotel were defective and we were therefore unable to use them (but on the other hand when we came close to the accident because of their bikes, there was no question of the hotel making a move to lend us one of their electric bikes, which they rent for the insane price of 40€/bike/day), there was no there is no spa or hammam in the hotel (yet well mentioned on the site, perhaps it is due to covid, to be clarified). Finally, the restaurant has somewhat vague pricing policies for the customer (for example, we did not want to take the entire breakfast with 6 dishes at 25€/person but only eggs, so we saw each other offered a continental breakfast formula at 20€ per person (the plate of eggs is expensive) then, grumbling a little, they offered us “a coffee + extra egg”, hard to understand their rationale…). It's a shame because the region is magnificent and our stay was pleasant all the same, however the level of service at this hotel is not worthy of a 4 star.

+Room well equipped and very well cleaned. Air conditioning on top and silent. Spa bath (not used in this season)... Large king size bed. Caring staff. Semi-gastro restaurant, but little frequented. No swimming pool from 18:00 p.m., due to the setting of the tables in the restaurant.
-The exorbitant price of breakfasts served at the table (no buffet) at 22 EUR with an extra omelette (3 EUR) Organic boiled egg (3 EUR), little choice in salty foods. The maintenance of the swimming pool was neglected at the level of green algae not cleaned on the sides, odors not great. The maintenance of the garden and the trees could be improved (wild state not very clean). E-bikes are in poor condition and expensive (no hourly rates). Balcony furniture not comfortable, deck chairs could be installed. Small superb private beach, but swimming is less so... No evening atmosphere (music by the pool).

We had the opportunity to dine at the hotel restaurant, run by a master restaurateur who knew how to delight our taste buds with unique creations such as the scallop tartare. Regarding the room, it's hard to find fault with it, impeccable bedding, a bathroom with a large Italian shower and a whirlpool bath under a starry sky… Thank you for this enchanting interlude. Hurry up!

May 23, 2023Small, intimate and charming hotel...if, like us, you don't like hotel complexes with hundreds of rooms, then this hotel is made for you! Nestled in lush vegetation, the living space of the hotel (restaurant, reception, bar, terrace) overlooks a magnificent and remarkably clean swimming pool and has a view of the sea and the Corsica villages in the distance! We are in a little cocoon of nature and happiness... The rooms are very spacious and again very clean. Big crush on the staff who took care of our arrival at 22:30 p.m. (with room meal service when the hours were over) to the attention paid to our 13-month-old baby. The chef of the restaurant even came back especially for lunch (even though it works by reservation) to cook us for 2 covers... that sets the scene for the service that the team provides for its customers! Well done for putting customer service back at the heart of your concerns (it's so rare now) and a thousand thanks for this stay with you! See you soon, that's for sure!

January 23, 2023We went to this hotel which we know very well. We had been coming for 5 years, sometimes as a couple and sometimes with family to rediscover the charms of Corsica. The place is always idyllic, a magnificent view of the mountains and the sea. The rooms are always spacious, with shower and spa bath. Where we were really disappointed were the services. Huge disappointment on the breakfast, unworthy of a 4 star hotel. Certainly we were only a few rooms to share this buffet breakfast but from Monday we had only one bread, which we were given all week. Eating bread that is 4 days old is an aberration for this type of hotel. The pastries are also frozen, the pancakes frozen then annealed in the microwave, no cereals, orange juice and lemon juice, a piece of pineapple and watermelon, in short, a very limited choice for a buffet breakfast. I still want to thank the welcome and the service of the woman who takes care of the breakfast, always smiling. But unfortunately, the (new) management does not give it any means so that customers can enjoy the most important meal for many French people!! We see that savings are made in a drastic way, for example, the day off of the only chambermaid, it is the man at the reception who had to take care of cleaning the rooms, the poor man has does what he can with what he is given. That's a good summary, the team does what it can with what the management gives them ... We notified our disagreement with the breakfast and our wish not to take it in this hotel with the reception who spoke about it to the director who did not seem more bothered than that on the subject. But when customers prefer to walk 10 minutes to eat breakfast at the hotel next door, there really is a problem! It must be said that the few times he said hello to us was to offer us cocktail after cocktail. Unfortunately, this establishment will not last long with savings on quality and an overexposure of house cocktails for the pool. We have a lot of affection for this place and are really very disappointed with this new vision for the establishment. One day maybe we will come back and the quality of a 4 star will be there again..

The rooms are magnificent, with an impregnable sea view (even from the shower!), the staff is very professional, pleasant and has been able to adapt to our requests. The view from the swimming pool and the dining room is just awesome! We will be back, that's for sure!

Directly indicate an age limit to access the restaurant if you do not like children! Some dish ingredients are replaced without consultation. Other dishes were however very good. In short, a bitter taste given the final note.

+Frankly, everything. I expected a mixed experience, reading the comments (style: beautiful landscape but dilapidated hotel and lack of standard of services, etc.), so let's set the record straight. Note that I travel to palaces / 5 stars all around the globe. As of July 20, 2020, the rooms are spacious, modern (ok, lack of power outlets), the bathrooms are renovated and pleasant, the waiters (restaurant/room service/bar) are ultra-responsive and available. I had an otitis, received in 3 minutes at the doctor on the island. What more.. ? - The breakfast is perfect (we ask what we want: eggs, pastries, cheeses, fruits, etc.). I would add that the whole thing is absolutely calm and beautiful, an unforgettable experience. But yes, add 100 euros per day per person to eat to your budget. This is the price for this gem.

December 27thFor a five-star hotel, services that are not up to par, especially in catering. Prices worthy of a starred restaurant but a quality leaving more than to be desired where one could expect impeccable service with staff trained in a hotel school. Nothing of that, to wonder if they speak French or even if more simply if they understand it. for an establishment based in France, Italian is the “first language”. Bad luck, I did English and German… First of all, a two-hour wait before being able to access our room and therefore being able to change to enjoy the beach. When you come for a weekend, two hours counts. The room is spacious, the bed gigantic (we called it the airstrip) and the sea view is breathtaking. In general, the site is sumptuous. So much for the positive. We had a small flood on our second night. Getting up by putting your feet in the water is not the most pleasant. The drain of the shower works so well, at the end of use, the tub turns into a footbath. At 800€ per night, I think we may have certain requirements. A little information, the boat transfer service (very useful for getting to an island) is chargeable (like everything else for that matter) and is charged €200 for the 15-minute trip. A catering service is available at the “restaurant” on the beach. It is mainly served salads and club sandwiches. The mozzarella tomato salad was really tasteless, to believe that the products are first prizes from a large retail chain. By cons, the bill is like the restaurant and it stings. With the exception of a pizzeria bar, it is impossible to avoid the hotel's restaurant. They know it and practice the prices they want. Last remark, apart from some jam at breakfast, no Corsican products. A height. We felt like pigeons in a golden cage.

December 24thWe came for lunch on the first day of reopening. Very bad experience for an establishment that wants to be upscale and practical prices. To start renting electric golf carts. In the first place we are told 30€ per hour. Back after having a drink, the kid who runs the stand asks us for 50€…. In short, in principle, we decline. We then go to the restaurant, a totally disorganized staff, some charming others extremely haughty. The dishes are served to us drop by drop to such an extent that some have finished when the last have still not had their plate! Obviously the order was taken incorrectly and the dish served was not the one expected. The restaurant manager seems to run away from trouble, it is particularly visible when a waiter spills glasses of wine on diners…. He goes ostensibly to the opposite side of the room. His only concern seems to be the proper functioning of the credit card machine, not a word of apology for the mess that this service represents. A final word on the dishes served, some are delicious (notably the pasta but charged at €35!), others frankly not up to par! In short, a place that is of little interest and seems more like a pigeon trap than an exceptional place.

The pasta dish supposed to be with lobster (charged 175€) turned out to be a vulgar soup with pasta in the shape of an alphabet. September 23, 2022A big disappointment! I came 4 years ago and I just wanted to come back! Alas, it is no longer the fishermen's restaurant that I had known. Poor service. Servers without experience, barely speaking French. Endless order taking. Very poor wine advice. In terms of dishes, fried Mediterranean fish with salmon!! (See photo) Seafood pasta dishes served on cold plates. Your dish is cold in 2 minutes. And the top of the top, 4 plates of tiny buttery pasta for the children (forced to ask for a refill) charged €250!!!! In summary €10 for a bottle of water, €65 for an undrinkable Italian rosé wine, €6 for table fees, €250 for children's dishes (which after protests from us were cancelled), 3 more Coca-Colas on the Invoice. In summary, you pay for the setting and get ripped off by the employees. A piece of advice, check your bills or go your own way.

We had booked treatments by email on specific days and times. These were not respected. The reception at the Spa was also average because she didn't want to hear anything despite the proof of the error. We booked the private boat to come to the island and we find ourselves on the collective shuttle without any price correction. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The garden is worth a visit and promises beautiful relaxing afternoons. The chef of the restaurant is talented, passionate and works with fresh products (even our little one was treated to various dishes prepared for him). You feel at home there and the atmosphere is family and intimate.

Excellent dinner prepared by the hostess, gentle awakening with breakfast served on our terrace, with the (discreet) presence of chickens and geese, The beach is 300 meters away and it is the one that enjoys the sun the longest on this east side of Corsica. The setting and the garden are magnificent and each room has its own character. We highly recommend it for all lovers of authenticity and plenitude.

February 13, 2023We spent 3 nights in the hotel at the beginning of September. We were well received by the owner. The place is very well located, and close to the beach which is simply magnificent. A small cart can go back and forth, thanks to Andy for the trips The room was great, very nice and spacious. After all, the place looks more like a super lodge than a hotel. We ate very well one evening. The breakfast was ok without being memorable, the wifi didn't work too well, and the hot water takes a while to come. Maybe the prices and the 4 stars rest a little too much on the splendid beach next door.

Deficient service, poorly maintained old-fashioned establishment, the rooms are small, are cleaned in a hurry without attention to detail (glasses, cups left dirty everywhere including in the sink !!!) we just walk around the bed, bathroom bath almost for one person, an empty fridge (except 2 small bottles of water), no other service offered except the beach on which no service is offered except old deckchairs and towels. Very high prices which absolutely do not correspond to the service. Very disappointing.

The beach is not cleaned, the deckchair cushions are full of stains… In short, I gave 3 stars which in the end were worth 4 compared to this one. I recommend the Grecale. Certainly it is not at the water's edge but its jacuzzi, the decor of the rooms, the bedding a real treat!!!!

It's no longer worth the price and service of the 4 star and it's a shame that they go for a walk to the Mariosa to see. Tonight at the restaurant we were shocked to see that all the tables unanimously complained about the kitchen. Some left without eating, we asked to recook veal meatballs which were raw, the cook refused at first but you saw that where to say no to recook meat? It's our last evening here and it really ruined this last evening for us Not to mention the aperitif that we waited 30 minutes, we went straight to get the glasses placed on the tray just behind us otherwise tomorrow we would still be there ! The staff is adorable but did not know where to turn following all these customer complaints…

May 31, 2023Disconnection assured. Apart from the entrance to the cala rossa area which is aging and ugly, the hotel is authentic. The exterior of the hotel is breathtaking and the beach is a paradise of white sand (and not gravel like all the beaches of cala rossa). In addition, swimming is secured by nets to limit access to jellyfish. Transparent waters with some seaweed in depth. Magnificent hotel pontoon offering boat trips! Yoga session with fabulous Elsa and refurbished spa. Very cute room. Caring staff. In short, I felt in a hotel from the 1960s which has not lost its charm, a small house by the sea, where you eat extremely well (incredible Sunday brunch), and where the staff is at your care while keeping your distance which makes you feel like home and not a hotel. A hotel that I would do again and that I recommend as a family. Very quiet and charming paradise setting.

The staff is very smiling, relaxed and attentive, we feel a positive spirit and top-of-the-range values transmitted by the management. The place, finally, a marvel of diverse and abundant vegetation before arriving on the sea with a breathtaking view, everything is planned for relaxation and well-being, with many nooks and crannies in the garden, several terraces above the sea. Let's not forget the Spa, we were able to benefit from a high quality relaxation massage.

The lunchtime catering is also very good. Small flat: several times during the week, the daily specials announced on the slate were no longer available. I found the room very comfortable, with very nice underfloor heating and a bathroom equipped with an XXL shower and top-notch decoration. Everything was perfectly clean and well maintained, which helped make my stay even more enjoyable. The spa was also a real treat. I was able to unwind and relax in a beautiful setting, with quality equipment and caring staff. The outdoor pool was also very pleasant, although I had to be careful of the steps to avoid accidents. The welcome I received from Eloi was simply exceptional.
