The location of the hotel is excellent, located in the city center of Lyon, close to many tourist sites and many restaurants and shops. It made my travels very convenient and enjoyable.
Also, the hotel staff was very professional and attentive. They were very helpful in answering all my questions and assisting me with all my needs. Their service was impeccable and I was very impressed with their level of professionalism.
As for the hotel facilities, they were also very good. My room was spacious and comfortable with a great view of the city. The amenities were modern and well maintained which made my stay very enjoyable.

Located in the heart of the city, the hotel is easily accessible from the main tourist attractions. Also, the breakfast was excellent, with a variety of fresh and tasty dishes.
The room I occupied was spacious and well soundproofed, which allowed me to spend a peaceful night. However, I was disappointed with the bathtub which was very slippery. Also, the double shower head system was a bit complicated to use and almost required a manual.
Despite these few negative points, I strongly recommend the Hotel Le Royal Lyon – MGallery for its ideal location and its quality breakfast. If you are looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in Lyon, this hotel is an excellent choice.

The room is spacious with bathrobe, mini bar, slippers, kettle, coffee machine. Still and sparkling water is available free of charge in the mini bar. The bed is comfortable. The decoration is neat. The breakfast buffet is very varied and plentiful. We offer you to cook you omelet, fried egg with bacon or mushrooms, I appreciated. I really liked the pink praline cake.

The bedding is of good quality which does not spoil anything.

Certainly it is a beautiful establishment with an ideal location but which is more a very good 4 star than a real 5 star from which more service/perfection is expected. The welcome is still just as charming and friendly, the rooms are clean, pleasant and well insulated, but some details "tarnish" the standard of what a 5-star hotel should be. The negative points encountered 4 years ago are still the same: windows that do not close properly, air conditioning that does not work, bathrooms in their original state that really deserve a facelift to be a 5-star bathroom… This being the step to improve is not immense, and despite everything I will return to this hotel during a future stay in Lyon.

The bathroom door must have taken on water and was completely damaged.
In short, really very disappointed for a 5 *. Apart from the size of the room, no difference with a 3*
I would add that the TV only gave access to TV channels, no radio and no access to any films offered even by paying (while this service is found in most hotels)

The rooms are spacious and very well decorated, with everything you need to make your stay pleasant (bathrobes, mini bar, extra TV channels, etc.).
The bedding is exceptional, we sleep very well.
The hotel has a bar which is small but cosy, well decorated and sufficient.
The breakfast room is small but very well laid out allowing you to keep your privacy during meals. The buffet is stocked, permanently filled, with many healthy, fresh and homemade products. Possibility of making special egg dishes by an on-site cook.
A great stay at this hotel.

-Everything except bedding. Our room (No 517) was in a pitiful state (see photos), the cleanliness of the hotel leaves something to be desired (dust everywhere). The furniture in our room was scavenged (nothing coordinated), in a terrible state. Really shocking and incomprehensible for this type of hotel, because we are in a 5 star category, and not in a “Motel on the highway”. As for the staff, there is a flagrant lack of supervision, because the team is young and very inexperienced.

As soon as we arrived, we were very well received with bottles of water because it was very hot, and we had to park our car in an unmarked street, because there was Pride in Bellecour.
The staff gave us good advice and even booked a restaurant for us for the evening.
Our rooms, 107 & 109 (communicating between them, because we were with our 15 year old daughter) very spacious, well equipped, clean. The bedding and the size of the perfect size.
The breakfast was also a pure delight, fresh products, homemade, impeccable service. We had a great time, and that saved us from having lunch, because it was very, very filling.
Thank you all, during a future stay in Lyon, we will not fail to come back to you.

Having tested several hotels, this remains one of my best experiences. Only some small details are to be reviewed (I posted a review on Booking). Such as the carpet which is very badly cut at the level of the windows leading to the balcony, unfortunately nails were sticking out and I snagged my socks and scratched my feet. It's not really a big deal, you should just try to cover the nails so that customers don't step on them. (This is the window near the television in room 517). Or other details such as the door stopper that came out of the ground that I put back in place and the leg of the chair. On the other hand, the staff is super responsive to the burnt out bulb. (Which did not bother).

+Ideal and central location in the hypercentre and with access to the metro at the hotel's doorstep.
Room 405 (junior suite) very spacious with a bed that keeps its promises (comfortable king size).
Good breakfast but I have known more extensive buffets.
The staff is welcoming, very friendly and smiling. The overall decor of the common areas and the bedroom is consistent with the presentation photos.
-The 5 stars must correspond to a level that is not quite the one I saw. We expect the details to be neat, but I noticed a few gaps:
– damaged furniture (round coffee table) and sometimes tired furniture (desk, bedside tables),
– ground sockets without protective flap, some of which no longer work,
– stains on the lampshade of the standing lamp,
– toilets where the hot/cold water indicator of the washbasin has disappeared, black marks in the bottom of the bowl,
– a fairly ordinary bathroom (cracked floor tiles),
– black marks on the wallpaper in the hallway of the suite
These are the details that can make the difference.
