We stayed in this magnificent establishment at the beginning of July 2021, and we were delighted with our stay. The warm welcome and the magnificent setting immediately enchanted us. The rooms are modern and comfortable, and offer a superb view of the Brévent. The alpine garden is an ideal place to relax and enjoy nature.
The breakfast in the room is a big plus, we did not have to move to have breakfast. We also appreciated the self-catering accommodation rental service which allowed us greater freedom and privacy.
The staff are very welcoming and helpful, and answered all of our questions and concerns. In short, the Chalet-Hotel Hermitage is a superb establishment that offers its guests an unforgettable experience and a stay in the Alps.

+The garden and beautiful setting so close to the center of Chamonix. The intimacy and harmony of the hotel. Relaxation assured in this garden and in the 3 saunas (+ wooden jacuzzi: 30€/45mn)! Both as a couple or a group of friends, as well as for a family (many toddlers in the garden and around the landscaped stream – without danger –). What a beautifully landscaped space and what view(s)!
The biotop basin is the best surprise of our stay. We didn't even think we could swim (I don't think I saw this detail in the description of the hotel) … and yet we did! It's cold, certainly (Chamonix altitude 1000m and unheated) but it's sketchy after 15 minutes of sauna and a day in the mountains.
Breakfast: perfect. All organic, all artisanal: several sweet breads or cakes, jams, etc. (PS: Dinner in town so no opinion on the menu).
Charming room, all in wood and parquet, a real "Mountain Chalet", well-kept decor with a view of the surrounding valleys (and Mont Blanc for those overlooking the garden).
NB: I noted the proximity of the train in the negative points but apart from that, frankly, no noise from cars (hotel very far from major roads and even small roads).
Finally, what about the staff? A staff of course caring. And very important for us: Not too many manners (as in other starred hotels), charming staff and the simplicity of a family welcome. It therefore feels like home 🙂
-Almost nothing to say but if we had to mention 2 small points:
– The hotel is generally very well soundproofed, but you can hear a few footsteps in the room above (2nd floor) and in the morning.
Also note: the small train (proximity to the railway. In general, 2 fast TER wagons and very little disturbing).
– The gravelled slab terraces do not “make” 4 stars 🙂 (Maybe voluntary on the part of the hotel to resist bad weather?)

Slight damp smell, narrow bathroom (+ ventilation that makes a hell of a noise when you turn on the light), wall light that hangs over the headboard (covered with a piece of aluminum!), top beds and kitten-lace curtains from another age… However, the room is clean and the staff welcoming.

Wifi not working very well. It remains correct overall. Sufficient for my use: go to a concert at the leather goods store and have a hotel very close (5 min walk). Tourists, go your way.

+Everything was perfect from the reception to the cleanliness of the rooms, the location of the hotel in a very quiet street and at the same time not far from the center. The garden was beautiful the saunas are a plus. The hotel is very beautiful with its chalet atmosphere.
-Just a shame that for a breakfast of 15 euros there are no eggs pancakes ham .. everything was extra. But this is a detail because the rest was perfect

Just missing the tv… poor water drainage on the floor in the bathroom, wet feet when going to pee… comfortable bedding. No tablet or bedside table to put a computer or smartphone in charge. One take

+We spent a wonderful family weekend in one of the hotel's chalets. The very comfortable chalet was very tastefully decorated and very clean. The magnificent view of Mont-Blanc from the terrace, equipped with a lounge area and a dining area, was much appreciated by the whole family. The fenced yard was perfect for our dog. We also took advantage of the breakfast at the hotel which was plentiful and delicious. The staff was very attentive and caring. The location is also ideal, close to the city center.
We will definitely come back.

+What we especially liked was the location, as well as the style of the chalet, the decoration, the outdoor facilities (alpine garden) and the friendliness of the staff.
The breakfast is really very good and the hotel offers fresh, organic and local products! It was really very good!
-We just had a little trouble with the bed (the cushions were too big for us) and therefore not very very comfortable. This only engages us and it is obviously on a personal basis.

-Cramped room, for two and with the luggage it's too tight. You have to go one after the other, ditto the bathroom, we don't want two in it.
NO AIR CONDITIONING, so two horrible nights sleeping with the window open and waking up with a dry mouth...unheard of.
