The place is magnificent, the swimming pool sublime, but it is above all the staff (adorable and caring) who are to be thanked. Not to mention the starry meal that awakens our taste buds with all these scents. Special mention of course for the dessert "la ruche au miel" which fills us every time. Thank you Jany and the team for all this magnificent work.

The staff was lovely and the breakfast, served in the room, was exquisite and plentiful.
-The little problems we encountered probably stem from a certain style of management, which plays on (beautiful) appearances while forgetting the well-being of customers. The decoration and the furniture make us believe in a castle, while the ceilings are low and the decorations falsely old. In the bedroom, the bedside tables were the size of chocolate bars, one of the bedside lamps was broken, as was the scale (!) in the bathroom. No hook anywhere, impossible to hang a towel once unfolded. Of course, in the (tiny) wardrobe, the hangers were of the "impossible to steal" type (oh, hanger thieves, shame on you!) and it was also impossible to read on the terrace, after dark, because the outside light was not working. Finally, the swimming pool was heated, whereas it was more than 30 degrees on this September 15th. The water was hotter than a bath in a tub!
Moreover, the bistro menu was insipid and “all-purpose”, for an absolutely disappointing dinner. Especially since the restaurant does not have a terrace, which, at the end of summer, is an unforgivable lack of taste! ..

-We can regret the too close proximity to the road, the slowness of the service in the restaurant, the absence of coat racks in the bathroom. The pool water was a bit chilly. The arrow sign at the entrance to the hotel should be better placed.

the view from the room was good…. but I would have appreciated at this price, a small balcony or a terrace.
-very disappointing not to be able to dine and have a drink on a pleasant terrace.
The gourmet restaurant is inside and the bistro under a not very pleasant veranda overlooking the main road. For a Relais et Château and for the price of the room, I found this rather unpleasant.

-Definitely a matter of taste but an update to the decor and furnishings of the room I stayed in would be worth considering.

+We loved our little stopover which bears its name well and were delighted with the perfect welcome, the pretty swimming pool with impeccable service, the size and the decoration of our room.
As for the dinner, it was perfect from start to finish. A mention for the Sisteron lamb which was a real marvel!
-One regret, that there is no outdoor terrace for breakfast.
Nothing else to regret...

The exteriors are magnificent and a visit to the garden is a must. All the staff, from the reception to the restaurant, are extremely attentive, helpful and adapt to customer expectations for a truly personalized experience. Our room was just beautiful with an amazing view. Regarding the meal, in the absence of a bar, thank you for agreeing to serve us the aperitif in the living room rather than at our table. The Garrigue menu was delicious with the pleasure of tasting the partridge and the famous iconic dessert of the house as good as it is beautiful. We just regretted that the notes of originality of the appetizers served as an aperitif did not extend into the menu because we are always looking for more surprises in flavors, influences and textures. And also not being able to greet the Chef, which is always a pleasure in starred restaurants.
I note 4 not in terms of the quality of the services but just for the difference compared to our expectations and other similar experiences.

From his piano, the chef amazed us with a symphony of delicious dishes from the beginning to the end of the dinner full of finesse, all orchestrated by an attentive and very professional staff.
At the end of the meal, the chef gave me a delicate surprise for my birthday.
I warmly thank these guardians of the gastronomic tradition.

March 30, 2023 at 3:14 amI had the chance to know three generations of this family of great cooking professionals at La Bonne Etape (the father in the great French culinary tradition, the son with a touch of modernity and inventiveness, the daughter with a touch of additional femininity and subtlety).
Everything makes this table an essential place in the Alpes de Haute Provence department.
Add to this a very attentive, courteous and competent staff, an intimate, warm and constantly renovated setting, very comfortable rooms and a magnificent garden (particular note for the vegetable garden). Not to be missed !

Varied and original menu. We greatly appreciated the flexibility in the composition of the menus in order to adapt to everyone's taste, as well as the quality advice on the choice of wine.
