-Room not maintained (stayed in 1990 = felt): dirty and yellowed joints of the bathtub, white bathtub spot yellowed, by time: white bathroom from the 90s without a touch of modernism, nor maintenance
2/ White desk top in circled wood, traces of coffee, stained, old, not washable,
3/ ugly faded, damaged tapestries (in reality the room is very different from the hotel advertising photo),
4/ dust underfoot when walking barefoot in the bedroom,
5/ handle broken from the start, between bedroom and bathroom (the staff informing us that this handle has been broken for several months),
6/ further request from us at the reception on the visit of the castle and Sunday shops likely to be open: denigration of the city of Saumur and its population (of the person at the reception) and not advice from its leaves to visit the interior of the castle. In the end, we visited the interior of the Château de Saumur via a guide and absolutely do not regret this discovery, quite the contrary.
=> in the end: superior room xl reserved, very disappointing (which does not deserve 3 stars, according to our perception) (= disappointment, because we wanted to disconnect, in addition to this weekend thanks to a beautiful room = it was a basic room badly maintained, the infrastructures of the ground floor on the other hand are worth the 3 stars, according to our perception)

The location of the hotel is ideal, very central. The people at the reception are helpful and attentive. We were able to leave our luggage on the last day after checking out.
-Breakfast was a bit pricey for us so we skipped it.
They didn't explain the catering system to us (jars, lunch only perhaps?), we didn't miss it but it would be interesting to present it to customers when they arrive.

The last one available in the desired category was frankly very ugly in terms of decoration (and a little small for an XL) and with such noisy ventilation that we had to cut it to try to sleep. Be careful during the summer. The room, however, is clean and the bed quite comfortable despite the somewhat soft and hollow 160 mattress on a 140 box spring and the fact that it is stuck to the wooden staircase. A bit expensive overall I would say given that we slept quite badly in the end.

The breakfast is plentiful, with local products and offered in a magnificent room. The citrus press is as stylish as it is impractical. Access to the car park is very pleasant.
We also appreciated the availability and knowledge of the surroundings of the owners.
-Slightly noisy. Our room was placed on the 1st floor right next to the staircase. You could hear people coming up the stairs.
The entrance to the hotel is a bit deserted and the leaflets offered do not concern the treasures of the city to be discovered.

+The hotel is really spacious, all the spaces are big and pleasant. Beds are so comfortable. The well soundproofed and insulated rooms, and the air conditioning, phew! Special mention to all the staff who take great care of their customers, always warm and friendly, a real plus, and this just a stone's throw from the city center.
-The only downside is that Booking announced a lift when the hotel does not have one. That said, the staff bent over backwards to find a room on the ground floor for my mother, so no worries in the end!
